- "The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards."
--Anatole France
I'm just wondering what you're doing to awaken your curiosity?
Here are some of my thoughts and experiences:
I live with a 2 year old. Curiosity could be his middle name. This automatically introduces curiosity into my life. Then it's my job to take my time and let myself explore and enjoy. It's a challenge to avoid a life with so much control and predictability that it has had all the curiosity sucked right out of it. Say yes to unexpected invitations or going some place new help me with this. Sometimes fear holds me back. Sometimes busy-ness limits me. Summer is a great time to let that curiosity have some room and time. I think I'm going to make a list of things I'm curious about. I'll update you soon.
What are you curious about? How do you awaken curiosity in yourself? In your students?
