How many times have you heard this? It's all about perspective. It's so easy to forget this in the moment, but think about what worried you 5 years ago or last year or last month or even yesterday. Most of it doesn't matter now even if we can remember it. We can't see ahead, but we can know that most of what bothers us and overwhelms us will not matter a year from now. {Even thought I worry more than I need to, I take comfort in this thought.} There is nothing like a walk in nature to help us recognize that life keeps moving forward at a pace and rhythm we do not control. This is one of the things I love about spring. Here in Ohio when I've just about given up on the thing, the sun shines warmer, the grass turns greener, and the daffodils spread cheer around. As the school year winds down and brave teachers everywhere feel the year end press, remember it's all about perspective. I hope you find a bit of comfort in that thought, and get yourself outside for nature's reality check. It's good for your mind, body, and spirit. |
