
What are you doing to fill your well?
As school is beginning, I feel like I'm approaching the starting line of a marathon. On the eve of a marathon, participants do something called carb loading. It's not an eat anything you want event--rather it is specifically about filling up your well so that your muscles can access ready carbs to keep working when they are depleted.
So how are you filling the well of your heart, so that when you feel depleted you can access the resources easily that will keep you going? Find something! It might involve time with family or friends or in solitude.
I have been especially blessed this summer to have all sorts of memories with my family that I know will sustain me, and I'm giving my best to caring for myself because I know I will be reaping the benefits in October and November when I'm starting to feel depleted.
