My attitude boost for today is
Model for kids how to laugh at yourself. Laugh with them. Teach them about appropriate humor. Have some fun with them. I love to laugh. And we know that laughter is good medicine--releases happy hormones in the brain and other good stuff.
I wish I would write down the "accidental/unexpected humor" that occurs in my classroom. Just last week I was taking a day because my husband was being "put to sleep" for some medical tests. The day before I was going to be out one of my students asked, "What's happening to your husband?" Before I could respond, another student said, "He's being put down." I laughed so hard that tears were forming in the corners of my eyes! That was the funniest moment in my day--and I got to share it with kids!
