![]() As we are looking ahead to 2015, I have a question: What are your self imposed road blocks? As we are looking ahead to 2015, I have a question: What are your self imposed road blocks? BLOG EDITOR Saved I'm simply asking this because I'm seeing so many easily moveable roadblocks in my path that I have placed there. They may have served me in the past, but they don't anymore. One simple example is my treadmill. It is sitting on my enclosed porch because it's ugly in my living room. And it was great to have it out there when my son was a toddler. Now I need to sweat more, but I don't want to go out on the porch. So my roadblock question is do I want to have a prettier living room or a healthier lifestyle? There isn't a particular correct answer, but I know I need to move that bad boy back inside. Does it mean I'm going to work out more? Not necessarily. But it does mean I'm eliminating another element of self sabotage on my path to my best life. So I'm asking you again: What are your self imposed road blocks? Are you willing to move them so that you can have your best possible 2015? Happy New Year, Brave Hearts! You are stronger and braver than you know! xo Brave Teacher Mim achersFollow Brave Teacher
12/28/2014 0 Comments It's so easy to lose site of what is really important. The day to day keeps us so busy.
Grading. Planning. Meeting. Loving our students. The questions for December is What do you REALLY want? Do you want more time or more peace or more money or whatever. (Fill in the blank) I want more _________________________. And the second part of the question is How will you regroup to get what you really want? I know it seems counter-intuitive, but often at the busiest times, we can carve out moments to just practice being and thinking. I've been regrouping in little spurts of time--I'm taking an online class about product development, and then I'm planning time during winter break to step away and formulate a concrete plan for 2015. I'm dreaming in little moments before I go to sleep at night or when I awaken too early. I'm trying to live in a space of acceptance and peace--even if it's just for a few minutes each day. How about you, brave heart? What do you really want? What do you need to look at to regroup? We are in the season of advent, and it seems like the perfect time to look forward with anticipation. xo Brave Teacher Mim |
