Just a friendly reminder. . .
Registration for the Jun 14-15 Art and Soul of Brave Teachers will close on June 3. If you want to join us, but haven't registered, please sign up here. It's going to be a GREAT adventure. I've been making the projects and journaling myself--it's so fun! ![]() What fills you with wonder? When do you allow yourself to be filled with wonder? Are you fostering wonder, dear brave heart? Last week we went walking by a little branch of the Cuyahoga River. It was really high and flooded. The other end of the branch Sam is touching was in the river. Water was rushing. It felt like a motor was attached. Sam was filled by wonder. We all had to touch the log, and he was watching the expression on our faces. He was looking for an expression of wonder. Here are some things that might fill you with wonder:
BraveTeacher, you are WONDER--full! Please don't forget that! ![]() An affirmation for you today: I take pride in the work I do in this noble profession of teaching. There are few things that we can do that have a greater impact than to teach. There are fewer things we could do that would be less recognized than teaching. Know that your work is so important. Feel pride today. It's going to be so much fun. Join me in an adventure of creating and writing and being. It's going to be a delicious way to treat ourselves. I hope you can make it!
We generally change ourselves for one of two reasons: inspiration or desperation. (Jim Rohn) I think inspiration sounds much more fun! ![]() Self Care Tip: Be Good To Yourself! The school year is winding down. Every teacher's plate is full and overflowing with year end paper work, closing down a classroom, capping student enthusiasm, grading, and all those other last minute year end things. In the rush and push to get done, please, brave teacher, be good to yourself. Be gentle with yourself. It's ok to go out to eat. It's ok to take time for yourself. (I just took this picture while walking in the woods with my little family.) Savor the moments. Everything will get done when it really needs to be done. It's ok if everything takes a little longer. You're worth it, brave teacher! ![]() It's such a pleasure to invite you to join me for the first ever Art and Soul of Brave Teachers Adventurous Workshop. June 14 - 15, 2011 at a private location in Barberton, Ohio (I will email all the particulars when you sign up!) It's going to be a great time. Here are some of the reasons you will want to join us: ~A space created just for you to take care of yourself ~Time carved out of life's busyness to write, create, think, and share ~A little community of brave hearts united ~Fun and informative writing prompts ~Fun and flexible artsy and crafty projects ~A binder of resources to take away ~The opportunity to make it uniquely your own and let it meet your needs ~Surprises and bonuses that cannot be revealed here ~A special one time low price ~Yummy lunch is provided, too All of this for on $49 (This is an introductory price that will NEVER be offered again) ![]() Self Care Tip: Find or create a support network for yourself. I think it's really easy for teachers to isolate. It's super important to get beyond this and connect with some real people. It might be people inside your teacher circle or you might want to expand. It's very important to find people who believe in you and will stand by you, even when your confidence waivers or you make mistakes. I created just such a little support network in Brave Women's Breakfast. Read more about it here. I find this to be something I so look forward to each month. I can't wait to see where it will lead! Where do you find support? Who will you ask for support? When will you ask? |
