Let's keep this whole thing simple What do you think of that? Some folks overcomplicate it Why would we do that? It all boils down to one thing Would we even want to add more? Let's sum up this simplicity in a single word in a single syllable LOVE And so we learn that showing up and living in the moment is a deep spiritual practice. We take more walks and give more smiles. We are slow and deliberate when we find occasions to speak. We hold hands and hearts and our eyes fill with tears as we learn of the pain of the other. We experience the complexity of life beginning to unravel as we simplify. At this moment this is our deep spiritual practice. It's the small stuff.
The extra step. One more word. The last kiss. Insignificant. Inconsequential. Dew drops. Frost crystals. Breeze in the branches. Time stolen to notice It's the small stuff. I sat incarcerated in a cell
of my own creation. Self doubt shackled me While I lined windows with bars holding the opinions of others. I sat waiting for liberators as I served a self induced life sentence. A small beam of light cast a shadow on my perceptions. Paradigm shift. Unshackled. Windows opened. Doors unlatched. Guests arrive. Music plays. The party of life begins. The moonlight
dancing on the hillside casting shadows of fear on all my plans. There is a mysterious magic when the moon is full and round and pregnant with inspiration. There is an intersection where in a moment daring to believe all is possible is the only sensible thought. Potential--
An unopened package of seeds, A bush whacking adventure, A new baby. Potential meets with detours, stormy weather, unexpected news, a restless heart. And in that moment potential makes a choice: Freeze or Retreat or Advance. And from that energetic flash, potential becomes static or kinetic-- an entire garden meadow blooms, a whole new way is forged, an entire life is lived. Amidst the dirt, the rocks, the debris There is one unobtrusive hint of green, of life, of hope. Diving deep into the pool of tears. Uncertain of the result. I might be dragged to the bottom and held under motionless. A mixture of hope and fear act as a super powered elixir. Propelling my body and spirit toward the surface. Breaking the tension at the moment when daylight illuminates the night. I am enveloped in a glowing aura of renewed enthusiasm for life. Did not want to leave, Thrown from a moving vehicle, Battered, Caught a glimpse of daylight, Gratitude walks in the bight glow of today.
